Volunteers Needed

Community members are invited to participate in an upcoming site visit as part of the 2 Districts 8 Towns sustainability project.

The second field trip will take place on Thursday, March 12, when participants will visit Gateway Regional School in Huntington, Massachusetts. The trip will allow volunteers to see a consolidated campus, hear from staff about challenges and opportunities, and ask questions about how consolidated districts operate.

Organizers say the visit will help community members gather ideas that could inform future decisions about students, teachers, classrooms, facilities, community connections, and school culture.

The group will depart Mohawk Trail Regional School at 9 a.m. and arrive at Gateway Regional School at 10 a.m. for a panel discussion. A school tour will begin at 11 a.m., followed by lunch and a question-and-answer session at 11:30 a.m. The visit will wrap up at 12:30 p.m., with the group expected to return to Mohawk Trail Regional School at about 2 p.m.

Participant feedback will help guide the next steps of the sustainability project. Community members interested in joining the visit or learning about future site trips can contact Judy Rush.
